A Texas Girl Living
in a Georgia World

Howdy!

My name is Kendall Bassett and I'm so happy you're here.

I was born and raised in central Texas on a small cattle farm with two sisters and no less than 30 barn cats at a time. We played in mud and the woods and rollerbladed down dirt roads... it was magical.

My father instilled the love of agriculture in me at an early age with show pigs at the local county fair and raising commercial heifers. Additionally, I spent my weekends behind the counter of his feed store listening to ranchers talk about the weather around the communal coffee pot.

I obtained my bachelor's degree in Agriculture Communications and Journalism from Texas A&M University in 2014, and worked for different departments at A&M for almost 10 years as a communications coordinator. A move to Houston, Texas in 2019 allowed me the honor of meeting my husband, and we've started the best life adventure since eloping in Big Bend National Park atop a mountain in 2021!

We moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2023 to grow a bit and expand on life's offerings. We spend most weekends on north Georgia trails, piddling in our garden, and enjoying the cooler (Texas, remember?) weather!

My life is filled with hikes with our dogs, baking, cooking, stubbornly rooting for Texas A&M football, reading, gardening, romanticizing my days, and doing some embroidery work in a rocking chair like your grandmother. Most recently we went fly fishing for rainbow trout in the Etowah River, so I guess I should add that to the list too.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope we can connect. Your support helps us put food on our table and maybe even a garden out back.
